Hallucinating Multiple Occluded CCTV Face Images of Different Resolutions

چکیده
In this paper, we present a novel learning-based algorithm to super-resolve multiple partially occluded CCTV lowresolution face images. By integrating hierarchical patchwise alignment and inter-frame constraints into a Bayesian framework, we can probabilistically align multiple input images at different resolutions and recursively infer the high-resolution face image. We address the problem of fusing partial imagery information through multiple frames and discuss the new algorithm’s effectiveness when encountering occluded low-resolution face images. We show promising results compared to that of existing face hallucination methods.

Hallucinating multiple occluded face images of different resolutions
Learning-based super-resolution has recently been proposed for enhancing human face images, known as ‘‘face hallucination’’. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm to super-resolve face images given multiple partially occluded inputs at different lower resolutions. By integrating hierarchical patch-wise alignment and inter-frame constraints into a Bayesian framework, we can probabilistical...
متن کاملFace hallucination based on morphological component analysis
In this paper, we formulate the face hallucination as an image decomposition problem, and propose a Morphological Component Analysis (MCA) based method for hallucinating a single face image. A novel three-step framework is presented for the proposed method. Firstly, a low-resolution input image is up-sampled via an interpolation. Then, the interpolated image is decomposed into a global high-res...
متن کاملCan we ID from CCTV: image quality in digital CCTV and face identification performance
CCTV is used for an increasing number of purposes, and the new generation of digital systems can be tailored to serve a wide range of security requirements. However, configuration decisions are often made without considering specific task requirements, e.g. the video quality needed for reliable person identification. Our study investigated the relationship between video quality and the ability ...
متن کاملA Study of Identification Performance of Facial Regions from CCTV Images
This paper focuses on automatic face identification for forensic applications. Forensic examiners compare different parts of the face image obtained from a closed-circuit television (CCTV) image with a database of mug shots or good quality image(s) taken from the suspect. In this work we study and compare the discriminative capabilities of different facial regions such as eye, eyebrow, mouth, e...
متن کاملDiagnostic Accuracy of Digitized Images Using Different Resolution Settings of Digital Camera in Detection of Proximal Caries
Objective: When none of digital systems and scanners is accessible and it is essential to have digitized images of conventional radiographs, digital cameras can be used. The Aim of this study was to investigate whether digital images obtained by different resolutions of a digital camera are matched to the original radiographs in evaluation of caries. Methods: In this diagnostic accuracy in v...
